A Patriotic Home Decorating Theme
Are you a true red, white, and blue kind of person? If so, your country needs you to stand up and show the world what you’re really like. This is easy to do if you decorate your home in a way that honours all things American. Even if you don’t believe it, being patriotic is the thing to do in America after 9/11, and the way you decorate your home can show the world where your true beliefs lie.
You can put Old Glory front and centre in your home in many ways that don’t involve draping the American flag over your furniture or putting it in every window. In fact, most people would look down on that kind of behaviour. One thing that is always true, though, is that a bucket of paint and a brush are the only things that can totally change how a room looks as a whole. In other words, the walls of your home are often the best place to start. A strong and powerful statement can be made with a red background and blue and white trim. If you choose the right shades of red, white, and blue, it can also be a pretty statement.
A national theme would look great with a lot of different country-style decorations, not just paint. From stars made to hang on the wall to patchwork quilts in these patriotic colours and a quilt rack that can stand against the wall or hang on the wall, Quilts are a great way to add colour and warmth to a room. In addition to quilts, there are many throws and blankets that can put these colours front and centre in almost any room of the house.
Aside from painting the walls, you can also paint the furniture to match the walls and any other colours you want to use in the room. There’s nothing like going into a house that’s decorated in patriotic style for everyone to see. It’s a beautiful thing that means even more now that the original rush of patriotism after the September 11 attacks has died down a bit. If you’re a true warrior, there aren’t many better ways to show it than by making your home a sign of that.
Another great way to show your patriotism is with candles. There are many beautiful shapes, sizes, and scents of red, white, and blue candles. If you look hard enough, you should be able to find something that goes with this colour scheme. More importantly, fragrance is a great (and often overlooked) way to add another layer to your home decor. If you really want to make an impression, burn apple pie-scented lamps often so that your home always smells like an American home. Aside from candles, you can also find this scent in fragrance warmers, air sprays, and pots that simmer (especially if you like to add layers of flavour to your home).
There aren’t many wrong reasons to decorate your home with the red, white, and blue that represent America. You might like the way Patriot Blue looks, or you might feel like a true American through and through. Patriotism seems to be on its way out again. Maybe your brave comment will encourage others to do the same.
